Web Content Writer - Freelance

Aleph Beta is a nonprofit media company dedicated to helping people discover the beauty, meaning, and relevance of Torah. Our animated videos and sleekly produced podcasts take audiences on a journey of discovery through close readings of the text itself, showing firsthand how the Torah isn’t just a rulebook or a storybook, but a guidebook containing profound wisdom for our everyday lives. 

We want to ensure that our rich library of audio and video content is easily discoverable by our target audience. This is where you come in. 

What you’ll be doing: 

You’ll combine best practices for search engine optimization  AND your masterful writing skills to write content that drives organic traffic to our site, boosts our rankings, and grows our audience.  Our videos and podcasts can make complex arguments that cover a lot of ground. But your superpower is seeing straight to the heart of a piece of content and identifying the burning question or most intriguing topic that will make your audience realize they want more of what Aleph Beta has to offer.

• A skilled content writer with a proven track record of producing compelling and accessible content that will hook readers into wanting more
• An adaptable and creative thinker, capable of writing in a style and tone that matches our brand and is appealing to our target audience 
• An excellent researcher with a passion for learning Torah, who is committed to accuracy and depth in every piece of content
• A responsible and committed professional, capable of working independently and meeting weekly deadlines 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role 
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
• Love for Aleph Beta’s content
• A high-level background in Torah study and a love for sharing Torah
• Experience with best practices for SEO  (but we’re open to hearing about your related experience and why you think your skills are relevant).
